Street painting transforms public spaces into chalk pastel galleries! Julie won best of show at the Windsor Chalk & Chocolate Festival in 2006, 2008 and 2009. She has been commissioned by the Art Gallery of Windsor and the Erie Street Business Improvement Association, and successfully organized the town of Tecumseh’s 2010 Street Painting Festival.

Julie will be coordinating a street painting competition and just-for-fun drop-in area at the Tecumseh Art Festival on May 14th at L’Essor High School in Tecumseh, 10am-4pm. This year’s competitors are asked to create a replica/homage inspired by a famous painting. Artist quality chalk supplied. Individual artists will be assigned a maximum area of 40 x 60, while teams of up to 4 artists (within the same age category) will have a maximum 60 x 70”area. Winners from each category; grades 5-8 and grades 9-12 will be awarded great prizes! Judging will take place at 4pm on Saturday. Contact Julie (firstname.lastname@example.org) to pre-register!
